EU roadmap Standard-taker

Slovenia's posture is led by the Government Information Security Office (URSIV), which warns that post-quantum cryptography is becoming a necessary part of cybersecurity because today's cryptographic solutions will not withstand quantum computers. URSIV has published a recommendation explaining the European Union's roadmap for post-quantum cryptography and has run training for information security leaders in critical infrastructure and public administration covering post-quantum cryptography and NIS2 obligations. No separate fixed national migration deadline has been published.

Essential and important entities must use state-of-the-art cryptography under NIS2, transposed into national law, and financial entities face equivalent duties under DORA; neither yet names post-quantum algorithms specifically. Migration follows the EU coordinated roadmap, with high-risk use cases targeted for 2030 and full migration by 2035, which is encouraged rather than mandated.
